Motor Trend Magazine Awarded the 2010 Ford Fusion as the winner of the Car of the Year contest. The Fusion beat out 22 competitors which were either new models or a redesigned version of a previous one.

"It's a credit to the [Ford] team to deliver a car in the hottest selling segment in the market and to make it absolutely competitive with the benchmarks," said Motor Trend editor-in-chief Angus McKenzie at an award presentation ceremony.

It is noteworthy that the Fusion beat out both the Accord and the Camry, which are in the same general classification and have been overwhelming favorites in years past.

I dont know about you, but I gotta give kudos to Ford for pulling this off, and I feel that they deserve it. Ford has proven itself to be a great car company, well run and managed evidenced by the fact that they didn't have to run to the Feds for bailout money. When I wear out my Mazda, this is the first dealer that I will to for simply because of this fact. Gm, Chrysler and all of the rest of the automakers that cant seem to get their act together should take notes...
