I really am saddened to see this great automaker come to the end of the road. In the past few years, Saab has been doing a great job on the styling and look of models coming off the assembly line. I think it is one of the "best" looking car designs on the road today, but good looks alone is apparently not enough to help sagging sales.
DETROIT, Jan 11 (Reuters) - General Motors Co [GM.UL] sent its clearest signal yet on Monday that none of the bidders for Saab had submitted an offer that would prompt the automaker to reverse a decision to shut down the Swedish luxury brand. "We're closing down Saab," GM Chairman and acting Chief Executive Ed Whitacre told reporters on the sidelines of the Detroit auto show. "We're winding it down." Source: Reuters
